As Bloomerang scaled its customer base and engineering team, maintaining real-time infrastructure visibility and operational control became increasingly challenging.

The Challenge

Bloomerang faced common cloud-native challenges with tacit knowledge and outdated documentation. Engineers relied on tribal knowledge for infrastructure understanding, slowing onboarding and troubleshooting. Static diagrams couldn't keep pace with rapidly evolving infrastructure across AWS and Google Cloud, hindering cross-team collaboration and cost governance.

The Solution

DoiT implemented Cloud Diagrams to provide real-time visualization of Bloomerang's multicloud infrastructure. The solution automatically detects and maps services, dependencies, and resource groupings across AWS and Google Cloud. Bloomerang's success with Cloud Diagrams wasn't just about the technology. DoiT's cloud architects became a trusted technical extension of Bloomerang's engineering function. DoiT's team ran working sessions to align Cloud Diagrams with Bloomerang's CI/CD workflows, development environments, and naming conventions, while sharing best practices for integrating the tool into documentation, alerting, and incident response processes. Cost optimization with Flexsave for Compute

For Bloomerang's AWS workloads, DoiT implemented Flexsave for Compute, a feature that automatically delivers cost savings across compute instances without requiring reserved instances or savings plans. This was particularly beneficial for Bloomerang's dynamic workloads, where traditional commitment models had created operational overhead and inefficiencies. Flexsave for Compute allowed Bloomerang to optimize compute spend without sacrificing flexibility and without requiring additional effort from engineers.

Supporting FinOps and governance

As Bloomerang's cloud infrastructure matured, DoiT's team worked closely with stakeholders across platform engineering to implement FinOps workflows tailored to the organization's multi-cloud model. With Cloud Diagrams offering visualized cost overlays and Cloud Intelligence™ features like custom budget alerts and usage analytics, teams could track spend in context, seeing not only how much was being used but where, why, and by whom. DoiT helped establish governance processes around Anomaly Detection, idle resource cleanup, and cross-team accountability.
