How does the GitHub connection work?
You connect from the integrations catalog using OAuth, at either the organization or the enterprise level. An enterprise connection covers all of its organizations.
What permissions do I need?
You need Owner permissions on the GitHub organization or enterprise, and the Billing Profiles Admin permission in Cloud Intelligence™. We request the admin:org scope, plus read:enterprise for enterprise connections.
How much history do you import, and how fresh is it?
We import up to 90 days of billing history on connect, and refresh every 6 hours. GitHub billing data typically becomes available 24 to 26 hours after it is generated.
Which dimensions and labels can I use?
Charges map to Provider, Billing Account, Project/Account ID, Service and SKU. GitHub labels add organization, repository, user (when available), product and the AI model for Copilot premium requests.
Can I see Copilot seats and usage?
Yes, if you install our optional GitHub App after the billing connection. It adds Copilot seat assignments, Copilot usage metrics and GitHub Advanced Security committer counts per repository.
How does GitHub show up next to my other providers?
GitHub appears as its own provider in Cloud Analytics, so you can report on it alongside your clouds. To isolate Copilot spend, filter on the Product label with the value Copilot.
