Frequently asked
questions

How do I connect Temporal Cloud?

Find Temporal Cloud in the integrations catalog, enter an account identifier of your choice and a service account API key, and test the connection. Once it passes, save to finish.

What permissions does the API key need?

Create a service account in Temporal Cloud under Settings, Identities, assign it the Finance Admin role and create an API key. On our side you need the Billing Profiles Admin permission.

How fresh is the data, and how much history do I get?

We refresh Temporal Cloud data every six hours, and it is typically available within 24 to 26 hours. Up to 90 days of history is imported on first connection.

Which dimensions and labels are available?

Usage maps to Provider, Billing Account (your account identifier), Project/Account ID (namespace), Service and SKU (usage category). Labels add Resource, Category and Subcategory.

Which usage categories are included?

Actions, active storage and retained storage, each available as a SKU and as the Category label, with a readable Subcategory name.

How does Temporal show up next to my other providers?

Temporal Cloud appears as its own provider in Cloud Analytics, so you can report on it alongside your cloud and other connected providers, and use it in budgets and allocations.
