The Challenge
As a scaling startup with rapidly-changing product requirements, Identiq struggled with AWS commitment-based discounts like Reserved Instances. Forecasting compute needs across regions and machine types was complex, and commitments created financial risks if requirements changed. The team paid premium on-demand rates to avoid over-commitment risks.
