New in PartnerOps: run contracts at scale, in the Console or over the API
Distributors can build their own contract template library, and both distributors and resellers can drive the full contract lifecycle programmatically.
By Sam Clark
Running a reseller network means making the same commercial decision hundreds of times. The same billing rules, the same margin treatment, the same tax exclusions, configured one contract at a time. Two changes to PartnerOps take that repetition out of the work.
Contract templates now reach the distributor tier. Templates already existed for resellers creating end customer contracts. They now exist one tier up. As a distributor you can build a library of reusable templates that capture your standard reseller commercial structures, then select one when you create a reseller contract. The new contract inherits the template's configuration rather than starting from a blank form.
Distributor templates can carry price books and custom line items, so margin treatment and recurring charges such as a monthly support package sit inside the template instead of being added by hand afterwards. Your templates stay inside your own hierarchy. No other distributor sees them.
The contracts and contract templates APIs are open to partners. Creating, updating, activating and cancelling a contract no longer needs a DoiT operator or a Console session. Distributor admins manage reseller contracts, reseller admins manage end customer contracts, and each caller is scoped to its own position in the hierarchy.
- Full lifecycle. Create, update, activate and cancel. Activation is its own operation rather than a field on an update, and it returns a distinct error if an active contract of the same type already exists for that tier.
- Templates over API. Distributor admins can create, update and delete templates. Reseller admins get read access.
- Reads that match the console. List and retrieve contracts and templates across your own tenant and everything below it, exactly as you see it in the Console.
Together the two make a single workflow. Build the commercial structure once in the Console, then apply it across your entire reseller estate from your own tooling. Onboarding a hundred resellers becomes a script rather than a hundred forms.
To get started, open the DoiT Console and create your first distributor contract template, then generate a service account key in your tenant to call the API.
Available to distributor and reseller administrators in PartnerOps.
