SpaceXAI Grok API spend is easy to run up and hard to attribute. A reasoning model bills you for thinking tokens that never appear in the response. Cached prompt tokens cost a fraction of uncached ones, so two identical-looking workloads can have very different bills. And when several services share one xAI team, the console shows you a total without telling you which API key is responsible for it. Until now, the answer lived in the xAI console, disconnected from everything else you track. That gap is closed. Cloud Intelligence™ now has an xAI integration.

What you get

Connect your xAI team and Cloud Intelligence™ ingests rated cost and usage from xAI's Management API, refreshed every 2 hours, with up to 180 days of history pulled in on first connect. Every charge arrives broken down by model, usage type (prompt, completion, cached, and reasoning tokens, plus non-token units like generated images), API key, and the region that served the requests. API keys show up by their display names, not opaque IDs, so "which service is spending this" is a grouping, not an investigation.

Reports, attributions, allocations, budgets, and alerts all work on it the same way they do for your cloud spend, using the standard report dimensions. xAI spend also flows into the AI Intelligence dashboard alongside Anthropic, Fireworks AI, OpenAI, and Cursor, with cached and reasoning usage normalized to the same vocabulary across providers, so comparing cost per token between model vendors is a report, not a spreadsheet.

Setup is deliberately boring. Two fields: your xAI team ID and a management key with read-only access to billing. Your inference keys stay where they are and are never used. The xAI connection guide walks through creating the key with exactly the right scope.

Get started

1. Create a management key in the xAI Console with Billing set to read-only.
2. In Cloud Intelligence™, open the integrations catalog, find xAI, and select Connect.
3. Once the first sync completes, open AI Intelligence dashboard.
