See what your images and videos cost, in dollars, next to the rest of your cloud bill
Cloud Intelligence™ now imports Cloudinary credit usage for every product environment and turns it into daily cost you can report, budget and alert on.
Cloudinary is the image and video platform behind a large share of the web's media. It stores your assets, transforms them on the fly into whatever size and format each device needs, and delivers them through a global CDN, so engineering teams stop hand-building media pipelines. Cloudinary is also a DoiT customer, and many of the teams we work with run their media on it.
Cloudinary bills in credits. A transformation, a gigabyte stored and a gigabyte delivered all draw from the same monthly allowance, and the usage page tells you how many credits you burned, not what they cost or which part of your media pipeline burned them. So media spend usually lives in a spreadsheet someone updates at renewal time, well after the expensive week has passed.
Cloud Intelligence now pulls each Cloudinary product environment's daily usage, splits it into transformations, bandwidth, storage, impressions and video seconds, and prices every credit in US dollars. Your image and video costs show up in Cloud Analytics next to AWS, Google Cloud, Azure and the rest of your SaaS spend.
What you get
Daily cost per usage category. Each day shows what transformations, bandwidth, storage, impressions and video seconds cost, so a spike in one category stands out instead of hiding in a monthly credit total.
Your price, not a guess. Enter your contracted price per credit when you connect, and every credit is priced at that rate. On self-service plans, Cloud Intelligence uses the published plan price if you leave it blank. The Pricing source label shows which one applied.
One connection per product environment. Connect production and staging separately and compare them in the same report.
The native numbers too. Transformation counts and bytes delivered stay available as a metric, so you can see whether cost moved because of volume or because of what you do with it.
Everything else Cloud Intelligence does with cost data. Allocations, budgets, cost alerts, anomaly detection and dashboards work on Cloudinary spend the same way they do on your cloud bill.
Setup is deliberately boring: a cloud name, an API key and secret, and an optional price. On the first sync, Cloud Intelligence imports the last three months of usage, the full history Cloudinary's API keeps, and refreshes daily after that.
Get started
- Create a dedicated API key for Cloud Intelligence in the Cloudinary Console under Settings > API Keys. See Create an API key.
- In Cloud Intelligence, open Data ingestion and integrations > Integrations, find Cloudinary, and connect your product environment. See the Cloudinary connection guide.
- If you're on an Enterprise plan, enter your price per credit so credits show as cost. See How credits become cost.
- Open Cloud Analytics, filter by the Cloudinary provider and group by Service to see cost per usage category. See Reporting dimensions.
