Aiven in Cloud Intelligence™

Apache Kafka, PostgreSQL, Valkey, and OpenSearch invoices from Aiven, in the same reports, allocations, and budgets as the rest of your cloud tech-stack.

Aiven bills per service, per plan, once a month, and the invoice grows quietly. A Kafka cluster for events, a PostgreSQL primary with a read replica, a Valkey cache someone spun up for a launch and never tore down. Add a few networking extras like AWS PrivateLink endpoints and static IP addresses, and you have a number finance sees once a month and engineering never sees at all. Aiven data lives in Aiven, and everything else lives in Cloud Intelligence™. With this release, Aiven is a new supported provider in Cloud Intelligence™.

What you get

Connect your Aiven organization and Cloud Intelligence™ pulls your invoices and every invoice line into cost and usage reporting. Each line keeps its project, service, plan, and billing period, so you can group Aiven spend by service next to AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Oracle Cloud or 40+ other integrations in the same report or budget.

Region is mapped from Aiven's cloud field. A service running on google-us-central1 reports as us-central1, so filtering or grouping by region works the way it does for every other provider. The awkward part of an Aiven invoice is the networking. Google Private Service Connect endpoints, AWS PrivateLink endpoints, and static IP addresses arrive as description-only lines with no service, plan, or service ID attached. We group those under a single Networking service. The SKU names the product, and the resource ID is the actual endpoint or IP address. A PrivateLink endpoint becomes a cost you can chart rather than a sentence you have to read.

Get started

1. Create a read-only billing API token in the Aiven console.
2. Open the Integrations catalog in Cloud Intelligence™, search for Aiven, select Connect +, paste the token, test the connection, and save.
3. Open a report, set Provider to Aiven, and group by Service or Region. The report dimensions guide covers the rest.

Aiven is available to all Cloud Intelligence™ customers.
