Bringg doveva rispondere alle perplessità di clienti che vedevano il suo cloud provider come un concorrente commerciale. La piattaforma SaaS di delivery orchestration di Bringg permette alle aziende di snellire le operazioni logistiche e offrire esperienze di consegna impeccabili. La sfida

Nel 2016 alcuni importanti clienti del retail hanno espresso perplessità sul fatto che il cloud provider di Bringg fosse percepito come un concorrente commerciale. Passare a un cloud provider più neutrale avrebbe fugato questi dubbi e, al tempo stesso, aperto l'occasione per rinnovare l'infrastruttura. Per una piattaforma al servizio di brand globali, l'affidabilità non era negoziabile: il downtime non era un'opzione.

L'implementazione di Google Kubernetes Engine

Bringg ha costruito la propria infrastruttura attorno a Google Kubernetes Engine per ottenere stabilità, scalabilità e flessibilità. I servizi gestiti hanno permesso un livello di automazione più alto, preservando la filosofia CI/CD dell'azienda. Sono stati adottati Cloud SQL per il database e Cloud Load Balancing per garantire un servizio fluido ai clienti globali. La piattaforma ha offerto la flessibilità necessaria per realizzare soluzioni su misura, senza ricorrere a workaround a breve termine.

La partnership con DoiT

DoiT ha aiutato Bringg a migrare su Google Cloud senza interruzioni di servizio, sulla scia di una precedente collaborazione legata all'integrazione di Google Maps. Dopo una proof of concept iniziale su account di staging, DoiT e Bringg hanno spostato i clienti esistenti su Google Cloud in modo del tutto trasparente. Secondo il CTO di Bringg, la migrazione è stata semplice e lineare, quasi come premere un pulsante.

Con Google Cloud, Bringg ha triplicato il business nel 2018 abbattendo al tempo stesso i costi infrastrutturali. Il focus su infrastructure-as-code e sull'automazione di GKE ha mantenuto basso il carico gestionale, liberando gli Engineers per sviluppare nuove funzionalità come la consegna in-store e il collegamento con flotte esterne. L'azienda ha guadagnato il 30% di efficienza grazie al machine learning e ha chiuso un round di finanziamento di Serie C.

Innovazione futura

Man mano che Bringg cresce e accumula sempre più dati, sta valutando BigQuery per l'analytics e i Google Cloud Machine Learning Products per nuove funzionalità, come la previsione dei tempi di inattività dei camion. La collaborazione continua a evolvere, con un confronto costante con i product manager di Google Cloud sulle novità in arrivo.
