Your practice, next to companies like yours

One maturity score puts you in Crawl, Walk or Run. Under it, every metric shows your value, the peer median and your percentile, so the gap is obvious and so is the next fix.

how it works

A benchmark you can act on

1

Pick the bar to beat.

Peers match your industry and monthly spend tier, based on your last three months. Compare against the peer median or the top quartile.

2

Every metric gets a percentile.

Higher is always better. Category scores average your standings, and the overall score averages all of them. Missing metrics are left out, not zeroed.

3

It refreshes on its own.

On the 2nd of every month, Benchmarks recomputes the month that just ended from billing data we already have. Nothing to set up.

Small peer groups fall back to your spend tier, then your industry, then all benchmarked customers.

what gets measured

12 metrics, the ones FinOps teams argue about

Cost efficiency, practice adoption and AI adoption. Six of the 12, each from data we already have for the previous month.

Preventable waste

Potential savings from your insights, as a share of monthly spend. Lower is better.

Effective savings rate

What covered compute cost you against on-demand pricing. Higher is better.

Commitment coverage

Savings Plans, RIs, Flexsave and Google Cloud CUDs, combined in dollars.

Anomaly response time

Median time to acknowledge critical cost anomalies. Lower is better.

Tagging & allocation coverage

Spend with your own tags or matched by allocation rules, whichever is higher.

AI share of cloud bill

AI spend as a share of the month's bill, against peers whose AI is at least 1% of theirs.

You know what you spend. Now know how it stacks up.

Benchmarks lives in our console under Reporting and analytics. Connect your billing data and it scores your practice every month.
