Lusha is on the rise with a boost from DoiT Cloud Intelligence™
Meet Lusha
Lusha is a growing challenger in B2B sales intelligence. Founded in 2016, the Boston-based data broker has built itself up to become a major lead engagement platform for over 1.5 million users. Its cloud-native platform offers over 100 million business profiles to help sales and recruitment professionals find their next prospects and candidates. Lusha offers a competitive alternative to larger incumbents in the sales intelligence space by offering highly accurate, reliable data through an intuitive, easy-to-use dashboard.
The Challenge
Leveraging AWS, Lusha built its infrastructure to ensure great flexibility, resilience, and access to a wide range of tools to help its customers. However, this introduced rapidly increasing operational complexity in managing usage across workloads.
Maintaining predictable unit economics on cloud expenditures is challenging for the vast majority of companies. Accurately forecasting unit economics with room for spend volatility is paramount to succeed. Lusha had the added complexity of investing in and implementing new machine learning and AI features, making visibility and unit-economics governance even more challenging.
Lusha came to DoiT after assessing a number of vendors. It was looking for a partner to help it support and manage all its cloud infrastructure, with a particular focus on gaining a single, shared, real-time view over its costs to better link usage to business decisions.
The Solution
DoiT began its relationship with Lusha with a comprehensive assessment of its environment to capture a complete picture and look for opportunities to increase efficiency, strengthen governance, and reduce spend. With the analysis complete, Lusha was onboarded on DoiT Cloud Intelligence™ so its engineers and business decision-makers could have a single, shared, real-time view of the company’s cloud resources. After implementing Flexsave for Compute to optimize its costs, it mapped and allocated cloud spend across more than 10 technical and security teams using DoiT Allocations. After that, it used DoiT Cloud Analytics to build team-specific reports and role-based dashboards, so each team lead could easily view the resources and spend they own.
Lusha also leverages DoiT’s cloud expertise to keep its environment well-architected and governed while optimizing its infrastructure. By collaborating closely with the DoiT team, Lusha leverages tailored guidance and intelligent technology that helps streamline operations and ensure a well-architected, scalable cloud environment. This partnership empowers Lusha to proactively address challenges, drive efficiency, and unlock the full potential of its cloud investment.
Lusha’s engineers meet with DoiT monthly to exchange feedback and insights aimed at improving infrastructure. Additionally, when specific issues arise, DoiT proactively engages with Lusha’s team to explore potential optimizations.
Lusha has also begun experimenting with new AI-based technologies, which DoiT supports through co-design, prototyping, and architectural guidance. DoiT gives Lusha’s team access to its cloud architects, who can help them ideate and prototype tools or services they can then test and iterate on.
The Results
Using this newly created visibility and automated management of cloud compute costs with Flexsave for Compute, Lusha reduced spend by 18% and improved predictability, saving hundreds of thousands of dollars across the Amazon services it uses, including EC2, RDS, and SageMaker.
Additionally, DoiT’s support strengthened operational confidence, helping Lusha improve its customer support and services with faster response times and shared visibility across teams.
