Reimagination Technologies is a California-based fintech startup redefining how people move money across borders. At the heart of its mission is SocialCashier®, a conversational payment and remittance engine that operates entirely within WhatsApp.

Built for emerging markets and underserved communities, SocialCashier® allows banks, mobile operators, and money transmitters to deliver branded, secure payment flows in a channel its customers already use daily. With VoicePay®, users can authorize transactions using biometric voice recognition, all while its data is tokenized and recorded on a blockchain ledger for full traceability.

The Challenge

As SocialCashier® gained traction in Latin America and launched pilots across North America and Africa, Reimagination Technologies faced mounting technical pressures. One of its largest clients served over 80 million users, and the platform needed to handle instantaneous, multilingual conversations involving sensitive financial transactions.

Internally, the team had built a strong foundation but it lacked AI, flexibility, and the performance needed to scale reliably. The original design depended on manual templates tied to each country’s language and bank, making updates slow and error-prone. WhatsApp’s architecture further complicated things, particularly when integrating voice authentication and intelligent message handling.

The Solution

DoiT Cloud Intelligence meets Amazon Bedrock

Introduced through AWS, Reimagination Technologies engaged DoiT as a strategic partner to bring generative AI into production. The relationship began with discovery sessions involving AWS and DoiT’s cloud architecture experts. The focus: reimagine remittance and customer service flows using GenAI, while ensuring global scalability and compliance.

DoiT proposed a solution centered on Amazon Bedrock for foundation model access, paired with AWS Lambda for event-driven orchestration and AWS X-Ray for observability. These serverless components provided a scalable, cost-effective backbone for handling concurrent requests without degrading performance.

To support SocialCashier’s multilingual goals, DoiT implemented prompt classification logic that dynamically identifies the user’s intent, whether initiating a remittance or asking a customer service question. Based on this, the system retrieves relevant data from SQL-backed tables and interacts with the user in their preferred language, even shifting languages mid-conversation.

“You can start a transaction in English, approve it in Spanish, and switch to French if you prefer,” Gonzalez-Gasque noted. “That used to be impossible. With GenAI and DoiT, it is seamless”.

DoiT also helped harden the platform’s security posture by integrating ValidSoft API for Voice ID for speaker verification, Amazon Fraud Detector for transaction-level threat detection, and AWS Security Hub to monitor compliance risks. Through DoiT Cloud Intelligence, Reimagination Technologies has visibility into cloud spend along with budget alerts set to ensure the architecture remained efficient as usage grew.

The entire system was delivered through infrastructure-as-code and deployed using a CI/CD pipeline, accelerated by DoiT’s hands-on workshops and Spanish-speaking solution architects who worked side-by-side with Reimagination’s Mexico-based development team.

Engineering cloud intelligence into every conversation

Reimagination Technologies’ vision required more than just AI integration; it called for re-architecting its entire approach to transaction handling, user interaction, and scalability. When AWS introduced DoiT as a cloud partner, a simple consultation quickly evolved into a hands-on collaboration to reshape the platform.

From the beginning, DoiT integrated into Reimagination’s engineering process. Instead of suggesting a ready-made solution, the DoiT team co-created a modular architecture tailored to Reimagination’s specific conversational flows, security requirements, and compliance environment. This included both technical suggestions and direct implementation, from Lambda orchestration design to prompt classification logic for remittance and customer service use cases.

The new solution’s core was Amazon Bedrock, which provided access to foundation models capable of supporting contextual, multi-language conversations. However, Amazon Bedrock alone was not sufficient. DoiT assisted Reimagination in developing an orchestration layer around it using AWS Lambda, with concurrency management and timeout tuning to ensure responsiveness under load. Every interaction, whether in English, Spanish, or French was dynamically classified and routed through this orchestrator, which also handled tokenized identity checks, session persistence, and database queries via DynamoDB and RDS.

To meet enterprise-grade observability standards, DoiT integrated AWS X-Ray, providing the team with complete visibility into AI flow latency, API call chaining, and error rates. For financial security, they deployed ValidSoft APIs over AWS for voiceprint verification, patented by Reimagination Technologies US20230010140A1, and Amazon Fraud Detector to identify risky behavior in real-time. These weren’t plug-ins; they were embedded into the transaction logic, creating a security-first foundation capable of supporting high-volume remittance transactions.

Where traditional architecture might have bottlenecked, DoiT implemented a fully serverless stack thus reducing operational overhead while allowing Reimagination to scale up or down with demand. Through infrastructure-as-code and a guided CI/CD pipeline, the DoiT team ensured the solution went further than just delivery. The result was reproducible, maintainable, and auditable.

Beyond cloud and AI, DoiT Cloud Intelligence played a critical role in controlling AWS costs by using real-time spend monitoring and automated savings tools like Flexsave. DoiT didn’t just help optimize code, they helped optimize economics, aligning cloud investments with customer growth.

Engineers who were once operating within the bounds of static code are now comfortable deploying and evolving serverless, multilingual AI systems with real-time observability. Workshops and hands-on guidance from DoiT delivered in the team’s native Spanish ensured that knowledge transfer was embedded into every phase of the rollout.
Introducing a CI/CD pipeline and cloud-native monitoring tools also streamlined DevOps practices. Today, the Reimagination team can test, refine, and deploy new conversational flows and logic faster than ever before, cutting iteration cycles and increasing operational confidence.

The most telling result is how the solution is being received externally. After early demonstrations of the AI-powered WhatsApp platform, Reimagination began engaging in serious talks with major financial institutions across Latin America, Asia and Africa. Reimagination Technologies is moving toward a multi-tenant architecture to serve enterprise clients across regions from a unified codebase. With continued support from DoiT and AWS, it is exploring new AI use cases from biometric ID verification to paying commissions over ATMs for multi-level marketing agents to voice-driven banking flows.
As the company expands into LATAM, Asia, Africa, and beyond, it plans to use DoiT for localized cloud expertise, risk mitigation, and cost control.
