Today, we’ve released the Anthropic integration for DoiT Cloud Intelligence™, which lets you view your Claude model costs and usage information alongside your cloud costs, third-party SaaS tool costs, and any other ingested costs in one place.
As more FinOps teams are being asked to manage and track AI spend alongside cloud infrastructure and SaaS subscriptions, it’s becoming increasingly important to have detailed information about:
- How much you spend on different models
- Which teams or applications are driving your AI costs, and
- How usage patterns change over time
If your company is building AI-powered features with Claude, continue reading to see how you can leverage your Anthropic cost and usage data with DoiT Cloud Intelligence.
Use cases
Once you connect your Anthropic organization(s), you can start analyzing and monitoring your Claude model cost and usage metrics in the platform in several ways.
View Claude cost and usage alongside other AI services in the GenAI Lens
Once you've connected your Anthropic account, your Claude model costs and usage data will automatically appear in your GenAI Lens dashboard alongside any other supported AI services you're using.
Whether you're using Claude models on their own or alongside OpenAI (with AWS Bedrock and Google Vertex AI coming soon), the GenAI Lens gives you a unified view of your AI spending. Instead of switching between different dashboards or piecing together data from multiple sources, you can:
- Compare Claude costs against OpenAI, Bedrock, or Vertex AI to understand which models deliver the best value for different use cases
- Track your total AI spending trends across all connected providers in one place
- Identify usage patterns that might indicate opportunities to optimize your model mix
- Get comprehensive token usage insights that include Claude alongside your other connected AI services
This means you can immediately see how Claude fits into your broader AI strategy without any additional setup or configuration.

Allocate your Claude model costs
Once you've connected your Anthropic organization(s), all Claude model cost and usage data becomes available as attributes that you can use when creating Allocations.
This means you can insert attributes of your Claude model cost and usage into existing allocations that include cloud, SaaS (ex. Datadog), and/or business costs — or build new, Claude-specific, allocations with them.
In the below example, we’ve updated an existing allocation that groups all of our production AI costs across other integrated third-party services (OpenAI, Databricks, Snowflake) to include our production workspace in Anthropic.

Build custom reports with Claude cost and usage data
Your Claude cost and usage data is also available for use when building reports, giving you flexible ways to analyze and break down your AI spending.
For example, below we’re looking at how many tokens our users are using per model, and per provider (OpenAI vs. Anthropic).
Knowing token usage per provider per user lets you attribute costs to the right teams, set sane quotas, and catch runaway scripts or misuse quickly. It also reveals model efficiency differences (who burns more tokens for the same job), so you can route workloads to the cheaper/faster option and coach users to fix prompt bloat.
To do this, we stacked GenAI dimensions (User Name, Model) in the Group By section, both of which contain values for Anthropic and OpenAI.

Surface Claude model cost anomalies
Additionally, post-integration Anomaly Detection will begin understanding your spending patterns and, if there are unusual cost spikes in your Claude model usage, automatically detect and inform you so you can take action before it impacts your bill and operations.
Monitor Claude model spending and usage changes
Lastly, you can also use Anthropic cost and usage data in Alerts to proactively monitor your spending patterns.
In this example, we've scoped the alert to anything Anthropic-related, and used the GenAI dimension User Name in the Evaluate for each dropdown, so we'll automatically get notified whenever any individual user's Anthropic spending increases by more than 30% month-over-month.
If you have a lot of engineers building with Claude models, this might be more efficient than alternatively setting up a budget for each of your users.

Conclusion
If you’re building with Claude models, our Anthropic cost and usage integration will give you the visibility you need to understand how your AI investments fit into your overall technology portfolio.
